ex-Jehovah’s Witnesses for Haiti
The recent and devastating earthquake in Haiti needs no introduction. We have all seen the heartbreaking and almost incomprehensible images in the news. I am here to tell you about a movement that is being organized by a number of former Jehovah’s Witnesses from around the world.
Our aim? To rally other ex Jehovah’s Witnesses to stand up and support Haitian Earthquake survivors. When we were still Jehovah’s Witnesses few if any of us ever donated humanitarian aid. Any aid that was given through the world headquarters of the Watchtower Society was primarily given only to other Jehovah’s Witnesses to the exclusion of anyone and everyone else. And as individuals we were discouraged from donating to other “secular” aid organizations. In fact, during times of disaster or calamity we were often excited, thinking that world events were catalysts to the “end of the system of things.” No longer suffering from that delusion, we can recognize this disaster for what it is and pitch in to help.
In the aftermath of this horrendous disaster the Watchtower Society made an official statement saying that they are praying for the Witnesses in Haiti. It remains to be seen if they will ‘offer’ anything else, or if they will contribute to the desperate population at large.
Those millions of us around the world who have freed ourselves from the destructive organization of Jehovah’s Witnesses now have the opportunity to help our fellow man. We no longer need sit on the sidelines and watch this devastation occur and do absolutely nothing about it. We have rejoined humanity and now we can assist it. We do not need an organization to make us moral people. We have the ability to think for ourselves and do what’s right at the right time.
I ask you now to join me by donating to those in need in Haiti. We have setup a website that will provide information about a number of charities that we believe can offer the most immediate assistance and the most impact to those on the ground, right now. The website is called exjws4haiti.com. We will not be accepting donations directly, but will provide you with information and direct links to make donations directly to the relief organizations. This way aid will reach the people who need it much faster and without any interference or delays. Thanks to modern technology we will be able to keep track of donations and will post that information regularly on the website.
Our purpose is simple. We are aiming to mobilize our community. We are calling out to our peers, other former Jehovah’s Witnesses from all walks of life. Often, we consider ourselves victims, but right now we can rise up and be givers. Please join us in making a donation to aid organizations who can provide relief and support to Haitian Earthquake survivors.
From one human being to another, thank you in advance for your generosity. We never know when the tables might be turned and it is you or I who need the charity of others. I hope that never is the case but please, if you are able, help Haiti.

Who is delusional here?
You guys cen’t be serious!!!
By doing this you are not only discrediting the only organization that provides 100% of the donations received to actual victims of the disaster, but you are encouraging fraud by religious organizations that are waiting to profit from naive people donations.
Get a job
It is so sad for someone who has tasted the truth to now come out in public to say things against an organosation being backed by Jehovah’s holy spirit.
Such statememnts clearly shows that you have the spirit of the world in you. There is no difference with you and the men in the time of Apostle John who were saying they wont listen to his writings from God.
Am so sorry for you cause you are simply constituting yourself as an APOSTATE
John and Henry: you good JW’s, how so unsurprising that you immediately belittle anyone’s efforts to do somehting without you all. Humanitarian aid should not be bound to your religion… people can think for themselves you know, and still be good people, you should take some lessons before you condemn others. You both should be reaching deep then into you pockets and put your money where your mouth is. How about it?!
I must agree, how on earth can you allow a society to control where and when you will donate your money? it is not the Living God that backs the society, but human minds conditioning others to believe what they feel is necessary.
I am so grateful to the Lord Jesus Christ for enlightening these exjw’s to finally take a stand against a society that refuses to see the truth and therefore hinders all from receiving the true blessings of Christ.
Tasted the truth? Are you mad? The truth is this: Jehovah’s Witnesses belong to a cult, period.
when i was a jehovah witness i had this guy that was a jehovah witness come to my house he knew i was single he said you want me don’t you i had to lock my doors i got scared never went back to the kingdom hall they got some weirdo’s when i moved i contacted the elders and said i wanted to go back they said i don’t care what you do boy i said i guess no matter where you go they will be watching you very closly so all teenagers are being watched they use teenagers to go back and tell the elders your every move be careful.
Well, over a month has passed and the ex-JW’s have generously given $4750. True, they failed to reach their target of $10,000, but what they have given is better than nothing.
But why is it necessary for ex-Witnesses, ex-Catholics or ex-anything else to have an organization in order to collect money? Why wouldn’t each individual just give to one of the many existing charities? Or will ex-Witnesses only give to Haiti if they can use it as a means of scoring points against the Watch Tower? If they would have given anyway, then what is the point of this site?
This really does look awfully like a botched attempt to gain the moral high ground. “Hey, everyone! Jehovah’s Witnesses aren’t the only ones giving to Haiti, we do too!”
So, while others were using earthquake victims to advance their bitter agenda of hate against their former coreligionists, Jehovah’s Witnesses have been really helping.
No, they didn’t appeal to the public for money. They didn’t even appeal to their own members. They just used the funds already collected to arrange aid. Naturally, they were among the first there, because they didn’t have to wait for the funds to be donated. Officials and aid workers have been quoted in the French press of having to beg or borrow supplies and medicines from Jehovah’s Witnesses.
I am so happy and grateful to be part of an organization like that.
How much aid have Jehovah’s Witnesses been rendering to the countless Haitians severely injured in the earthquake who desperately need blood transfusions?
i am happy not as ex-jw but as jw. we should be a witness to jah every time in ourlives. God as clearly shown that he is using the wt to dispense spiritual food to his sheep in this time of the end. it’s a pity that those of you who called yourselves ex-jw are speaking out of anger and frustration. well you may have a personal fracas againt a fellow believer, but the organisation does not condone wrongdoing and it has been maintaing its santity for ages. you can never do better isolating yourselves from the organisation. you can only suffer spiritual danger. for your good reexamine your intention and heart. in the area of relief aid, the organisation has been standing out when ever there is disaster. their aid has always been benefited by non witnesses. even if the reason is to help believer as commanded by the scripture but the plight of non-believer is not always left out.
don’t be frustrated and talk thoughtlessly.
It’s interesting how many JW’s do not know how to spell……
i personally choose to have nothing to do with any jw’s do to their manipulative, hypocritical and honestly pathetic behavior. the “organization” has NOT been upholding high values but rather enabling abusive behavior. all i can say is i’m so grateful i left that cult years ago and my children will never have to choose between their family or their life. god or their child. i’m so grateful my mind was able to be freed from their prison!!
The watch tower bible and tract socety are a proven false religion and cult.
If any jw is honest and a true seeker of truth they will do an intense study on the history of the watch tower society beginning with the first leader Charles Taze Russell and The original International bible students till today.
The problem is not proving that the watch tower society is a false prophet and cover up machine - ITS GETTING A JW TO LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF EXHAUSTIVE EVIDENCE - THATS THE PROBLEM. THEY SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO LOOK AT THE INFO IN A RATIONAL COGNITIVE WAY WITHOUT BECOMING ANTAGONISTIC or fearfull.
A great recource is the Kingdom of the Cults by Dr Walter Martin now revised by RaviZacharias. A brilliant work which includes the watchtower.
Every person that has belived and all future watchtower believers will all make the same mistake and thats to test what the watchtower was teaching When Christ inspected the watch tower and gave it the thumbs up and made it the so called ONLY TRUE religious orgabisation.
They will see it was impossible for Christ to approve it fallicies.
IF you look for truth you will find it.
You must truly know Christ not about him. All you guys who write on this site know about Christ however you don’t know him.
Its only by choice or revelation that you do know Him.
They that TRUST in the Lord (not the watchtower) are like Mount Zion.
They shall not be moved, they shall last forever.

After reading up on all the comments prior, and the appeal for ex-JW’s to rally together for this good cause, I am left with a question that probably will never really be answered.
Why is there such a need to be heard as a “former J.W.?” and who, but former J.W.’s will listen?
I am a former J.W. and have no agenda to cripple the entity of the Watchtower. It is the faith that my parents taught me from my birth..I am now 46 years old and have not been affilliated and or associated with the Witness for some time(almost 9 years)During the time that I was a Witness, I was active and grateful to be a part of God’s earthly organization. I got discouraged, and I started to see inconsistancies in teachings and the application of the sccriptures within the writings of the watchtower, public talks, and congregational issues that directly affected my family. Primarily things that would be considered a ‘conscience’ decision. As a result, I sought Jehovahs face, and prayed fervently for some light to be shed, so that I did not lose the only thing that I believed at the time that would keep my family happy and together.(We had spent nearly 15 years a a married couple raising four children to serve the only true God) and researched countless books, from Aid to bible understanding, to Insight on the scriptures, plus just reading the bible without another’s interpretation. No real guidance came, and it seemed that for some reason our family was under attack. At the time, due to my conditioning as a Witness, I thought that I had found disfavor with JEhovah, and that as some implies, that GOd may have removed his spirit from me. I was distressed and emotionally inconsolable. My prayers became more lenghthy and profound as I searched for answers, I appealed to my christian Elders to pray for us, and asked for guidance, and they refused to help as I was a sister with a husband in good standing, and if he were to go to them and ask them, then they would be able to help. I was forsaken, and the only conclusion I came to was that Jehovah did not want me to be there.
At the time I left I felt a great relief, I didn’t hasve the weight of the obligatory behaviors and acts that would earmark one as a Christian in good standing. I went about my life peaceably, and dealt with some real issues that my husband and I had been ignoring. HE too fell away from the congreation, and later revealed to me that he’d been unfaithful to me. Our marriage ended, and we realized that our marriage was only held together because of the legalistic constraints of the faith. We parted, as amicably as possible. I have to say this about the entire awakening I had regarding the brotherhood…there is only one if you want there to be one.
We did not recieve sheparding, we did not recieve any pohone calls, rumours were spread about both my ex husband and I, and about 2 years after I ceased attending the congregation meetings, and ceased association with the witneses, I was disfellowshipped as I refused a meeting with the Same Elders who refused to uplift and encourage our family. I was sent a certified letter from the Greenberg Congregation requiring me to attend a meeting with 3 elders, to which I refused via letter stating” I do not trust you “. Subsequently, the congregation overseer called me later to inform me that they decided to disfellowship me on the grounds of conduct unbecoming a christian.
I ask you…who was not christian?
This is not a slur against the many faithful who blindly dismiss stories like mine, I used to do the same. What this is, is a reality check…Haiti? How about home? How about giving to those in Spitritual Crisis? Where is the love for those who really need it?
Shame on you!
Face of a doll mind of a demon. Stop talking against Jehovah´s people.
Repent and go to work to make money!
Yes, the JW gives money, but to other JW in Haiti, and to the re-constructions of their places of worship. That was very nice of JW Org to do that for their own members. In a way it is a help. But why not just help. Regardless. You know, JW trash non JW all the time. How sad of this because the non JW people were giving to anyone that needed help. Anyone, no questions ask… Yes, they helped even the JW. Because at the time of the devastation, JW has maybe money to give their own and cloth perhaps and maybe even a little to give to others just so they can say they gave, but the most important thing needed at the moment of the hit was, “Medical care” guess who provided it. Yes… all those people you JW like to refer as “Worldly”
How sad I am of all religions/ cult like organizations that claim love, yet only love their own, or until someone is truly converted to their own. This is not love… Wake up and smell the Cult! – This thing you call preaching the good news is all about converting others t join the cult, so that the cult can expand.
PS – JW need to keep in mind before they speak, that they are on a “need to know basis” when it comes to knowing what people who run the watchtower are doing. Even when it involves the money contributed by their own members. I am just saying, since there are many JW giving their opinions which are not valid or even exact as they have no decision power. Bo-hoo!! Lol
I am proud to say that I am Haitian, an ex-JW, and agnostic! I appreciate what you’re doing for my people!
Being a “liberated” JW…(I prefer that to ex-JW, no offense intended) I now really enjoy religious study and research. Its funny that as a JW who had the “truth” I was discouraged from researching religion outside of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society’s published literature. I always found it somewhat hypocritical that we would challenge peoples beliefs at their doorsteps and not subject our own religion to critical analysis…the idea being that if we had the truth it should hold its own against “false doctrine”. What a laugh…
Anyway…don’t want to post a feature length novel..I am now an atheist who avidly researches religion its historical value and following the myth. Many won’t agree with me but you know what???? that’s okay…I find it quite ironic that now that I am not a JW that the yoke that Jesus referred to is now much MUCH lighter that when I was one of the chosen ones.
Cheers to you all..I don’t always agree with the ex-JWs but I certainly appreciate where the anger born out of frustration comes from.
For all you JWs who are reading this and deciding that I am an apostate I challenge you to put your “truth” on the line and read Raymond Franz’s book “Crisis of Conscience”…I mean honestly if you have the truth you are sure to be right?? No??
Oh and VanCoffeeChick is hot! And she is an Ex-JW which somehow makes her hotter!!

YOU GUYS WORRY TO MUCH ABOUT OTHERS INSTEAD OF WHAT HAPPENING AROUND YOU!! GET A LIFE.. SHIT GET A RELIGION!!
All these JW’s getting their panties in a twist. If I remember correctly you shouldn’t even be reading this or on this website, especially if you consider it apostate material.
To Jennifer and all of the rest of the false prophets,
Why is there such a need to be heard as a present JW? You guys take the bible as gospel. A book full of holes and contradictions. You are part of an organization which has prophesied the end of “this system of things” how many times? Oh but you may not know that because your not permitted to look into your own old literature. God forbid you would find how utterly full of shit your org. is. You’ve changed how many of your teachings? Let’s see, organ transplant, This generation, the 144,000…and blah, blah effin blah. Here’s a clue. The truth is the truth no matter how long it’s around. It never changes. The definition of truth is That which is certain and constant concerning any matter, or a verified fact. CONSTANT. The only thing constant about your group is it’s changing and inconsistency. You offer people salvation and never deliver. Don’t be upset that us “apostates” have chosen not to drink the kool-aid.
BTW, can someone teach the holy-rollers how to spell? Jesus effin Christ! I would love to read your retort but God-Damn it’s like reading latin. Nice representation of how educated your organization is.
Why are so many current J.W’s writing on here? I thought you were supposed to stay away from sites like this?? Reading all of our “apostate” comments is like lickin the devil’s ass. Then again, having personally experienced how many J.W’s are either pedophiles, general perverts or both, maybe you guys are into that sort of thing?
I used to be a ministerial servant. It baffled me how doing things like watching R rated movies, listening to certain music or even growing a beard or goatee would disqualify me; yet I could watch all the gnasty porn I wanted and that wasn’t a big deal?? How can you justify harboring child molesters while punishing the victims and their families as I have personally seen numerous times in different congregations?? The organization has wonderful, good-hearted people in it, yet they are never the dominate type. Many J.W’s I know are forced to admit they as a group are the most judgemental people anywhere! Talk about slapping Jesus in the face.
One more thing…how is it the term apostate is used so liberally amongst J.W’s? Don’t you realized there is nothing worse you can call another human than that? The true meaning of that word is a fighter against god and his purposes. Who appointed you judge, jury and executioner? You more or less condemn people to death when you label them that, yet Jesus said in Mat. 7:1-4 to stop judging because the judgement you give, you will also get. Think about that the next time you wanna say the “A” word.
God, in his great love for all humankind sent his Son Jesus to give back what was lost. We need a savior, one who will love us even though we all are imperfect. Apostate is guilty of not loving God and rebelling against his laws and statutes written. Giving is a part of who Jehovah is. When Jesus died years ago the giving is part of the new birth. We can not give out, what we do not have within. There is no law against love. we say Jehovah the Jews say Yahweh or some other pronuciation others may pronunce it another way. But is still one. the Israelites reverance that name so much that they dared not to use it in an unholy way. Today we have people speaking and calling them selves ex-JWS. once you give your life to God you can not take it back. This life is a journey. It does not matter who trieds to throw you out or take you away, now you are in a covenant relationship with God. Now what one needs to do next is to ask the Father what he wants you to do next. It could be finding a place of praise and worship, letting his spirit remove the evil that has been hiding in your heart.
Jesus Christ death on calvary paid the price for his bride. Divorce is common in the world, but not so with God. Jesus said to love the LORD pur God with our whole heart our whole soul and our whole mind and to love our neighbor as our selves. Our Father is working on the inside of people the Holy Spirit is cleaning and helping people to change. love is a God given quailty. Nothing can cause us to love one another when we are full of our selves. Pride will not allow us to change. But God through his Holy Spirit is helping us if we are wllling to humble our selves and seek him by obedying his words of forgiving others, which is a very hard thing to do, but if you would ask Jesus to come into your hearts and be your Lord and savior, wash you in his blood, cleaning you from your sins , then he will give you a new birth by faith and Jehovah will strenghten you so that you will be able to for give the ones who have wrong you and you compassion for other from the heart, not a taught but a God given forgiveness.Goodbye
