well, im actually doing research, and your arguments here help alot. thanks guys, but here is my view to this, i think it is insane because Jesus created life, and gifted us all in many ways, the Gift of having a child is Great, and Amazing, i am 18 i dont have kids, but if i were in a situation where my siblings have to have blood transfusion, or if i have to give blood i do whatever is in my power to help out, I would. It is true tho, why is JW so strict about this? is there something that the creator of this religion has to hide? in other words, I believe in Jesus, but i do not have a religion, the #1 reason that causes war, I believe in his Holyness and his Great Power, but there is a beginning to everything how did "Religion" start?? Every type of religion can fight over who is right, and every religion has their point, but can't we just get enough with knowing that Jesus loves us, and just Moraly live our lives? I mean think about it, Blood, is only something everyone needs, its a necessity of life and if JW believe so much in what God can do then why don't they pray so a Child in so much need of blood to be alive, or to survive, why cant he just BAM magically do the work just like that? i believe Faith can Move mountains, but if you dont have faith and just worry to much about the religion, instead of what Jesus wants in your life, do something about life, It may be a test, or a sign from Jesus, and show you that its not wrong, and God is mercyful, not a one who wants you to choose over your child whom he created and him/his religion. OPEN YOUR EYES!! A child is innocent, a child only deserves to live, and have a life, what if that child grows to be someone important, someone that changes our views of life, or creates a big impact to the people around it. Just cuz of a religion, its just so wrong, Jesus aint like that, he Loves us all and don't have to make us choose over religion and our beloved ones. :[

AmRee, poor you, you label us as a wicked, when there are so many wicked people inside the organization that's supposedly guided by the hand of God.
If you think that way and are such a pious JW, what in the world are doing visiting a website for Ex-JWs.
Then again you're only a poor victim of the Watchtower, which is the real problem here.
You are probably as sincere as any other JW, but are blinded by the society's lies.
I truly hope this website opens up your eyes.

PS: I am an ex-JW and now a Pagan (nature-oriented beliefs) and proud of it, got sick and tired of monotheistic religions and their continuous lies about having the absolute truth. Let me tell you, I am convinced I am a much better person than many hypocritical JWs I met, I do not lead a double life, I am who I am and try not to hurt any living being (humans, animals, nature in general). If I can I try to be kind to those in need and believe we have the power to fight for more social justice. Protecting the environment is in my top-list as well as activism for human rights. You tell me, do you think kind God would be pleased in destroying a "wicked" person like me?
And speaking about ingesting blood, why is it that there are almost no vegetarian JWs? Don't you know meat itself contains traces of blood even if the animal has been bled out? Ah but I guess the killing and eating of an animal to please your own taste buds does not count as ingesting blood does it? Think about it.

I feel like there should be legal action taken against JW for allowing people to die instead of taking blood or organs to save their lives... Especially children! If the parent does not accept the organ or blood donated to a child that cannot make their own decisions, they should involve Children's Services and the court system, the parent should be tried in court. Just like if a parent beats or abuses a child it should be handled in the same manner.

Wow - JW is cult killing children ? How is this possible. This whole organization should be brought to justice. I am sure that is what Jesus would want.

Ben: Well, if you read your bible you would know that there are scriptures that state not take blood. It is printed in plain English. I think that people just try to find an excuse to object what is written in the bible so that they can do what they want. The funny this is, whether you listen to what is written in the bible or not, whether you believe that we are brainwashed or not, you still will answer for what you do. I personally can not wait until that day comes when the wicked are destroyed. Just like in Noah's day when the wicked laughed and taunted Noah and his family for preaching and building the ark the wicked will also be destroyed. There was nothing anyone could do once the that first rain drop touched the ground because it was too late. I guess that you have labeled yourself as one of those people. God will have no problem removing you or anyone else that doesn't want to listen from his earth when the time comes.

Brian: It's sad to hear your brainwashed reply. There are NO scriptures against blood transfusions. I was raised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I know how extreme they are, and to what lengths they will go to for their beliefs. The scriptures that command against eating blood are just that - "eating it" It was intended to show respect for life. Not to let people die today, when it is very safe to have a transfusion. In the times those scriptures were written, there was no technology for saving someones life through transfusion. Granted, there is risk in having a transfusion, but in a life or death case, it's worth it. And I guarantee, God has no problems with it, it's only the morons who make up stupid rules at the Watchtower Bible and Track Society. They get off on making themselves out to be better than everyone else, getting their followers to believe they have some special channel with God that no one else has. They break up family's, and cause children to grow up with a twisted unhealthy view of the world. The sooner everyone realizes it, the sooner people can stop dying for blindly following the Witness's made up rules. Use your common sense, it's 25% good morals, but 75% extreme B.S.

I love how the national director just flippantly dismissed the claims of someone he doesn't even know and probably hasn't even looked into the situation. It's like that with most JWs. Merely suggest that the society did something that wasn't completely good and altruistic and they'll knee-jerk into complete denial before even hearing any of the facts.
