Nowadays even Catholics also support Darwin's theory that men were evolved from apes. However, the scripture mentions that

Genesis 1:27, "So God made man in his own image".
Genesis 2:7, "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground."
Genesis 2:21-22, "And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, …the Lord had taken from man, made he a woman, & brought her unto the man".
From the above verses, it is obvious that God formed man/woman from dust instead of transforming apes to human beings.

I am a Christian that stands firm in the belief that Bible is the Word of God and I would certainly reject whatever teachings that are not scriptural.

Just thought I would mention that I have recommended your site on my own. I happen to be former Witness turned secular atheist myself. :-)

Well said Moxie. Your paragraph:
"I think that people deny and turn their nose up at evolution because it offends their ego; whereas in reality, it shows what odds we have faced as a species; that we have persevered and advanced to become what we are today–and that is something which is magnificent in comparison to our humble beginnings."

Perfectly paraphrases Carl Sagan:
"It is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring."
